TMF Group expands funds team in Singapore
TMF Group, a leading global professional services firm, has appointed two new senior executives to accelerate the growth of the firm’s funds business unit in Singapore.
As of today, William Fung joins TMF Group as Head of Fund Services, Singapore & Malaysia, and Thurgagini (Gini) Thaverajah joins as Client Service Director. They will both be based in Singapore.
Before joining TMF Group, William Fung served as Head of Operations at Alter Domus, where he oversaw the entire operations team (over 35 fund and corporate services professionals) in Singapore and acted as the main point of contact for client escalations.
Fung is not new to TMF Group: he has previously served the company as a Solutions Architect, where he was responsible for developing fund administration capabilities in the APAC region. Prior to this, he worked for a fund administration firm IQEQ (formerly known as Augentius), both in the UK and Singapore for 10 years.
Fung will report to Edmund Lee, TMF Malaysia and Singapore’s Managing Director and to Andrew O’Shea, Global Head of Fund Services.
Lee says: “The addition of William to our team represents a remarkable step forward. His experience in the wider fund industry is definitely a real plus. William has a significant track record internationally and I am sure he will contribute significantly to increase our positioning in the APAC region.”
Fung says: “Being back at TMF Group at this very peculiar moment is very exciting: its ambitions and growth plans are thrilling, and it is stimulating to be part of it. I look forward to joining this path and to identify, together with the senior management team, new avenues to help the company to grow.”
O’Shea says: “TMF Group’s Fund Services team continues to expand rapidly, Singapore is a vital pillar of our global platform and we are delighted to reinforce our team with talent of this quality. Our focus throughout 2021 and beyond will be to retain the best talent in the industry and support them with cutting edge technology, to deliver market leading solutions for our clients”
Gini Thaverajah gained extensive experience at Citco Fund Services Singapore Pte Ltd, having occupied several positions there since 2011, ranging from Senior Fund Accountant to Vice President. As Vice President, she played a critical role in setting up a fund accounting department and was involved in establishing Citco’s office in Mumbai. She also managed fund launches and conversions. Gini will focus on TMF’s APAC fund clients ensuring that they are supported with the highest quality service standards throughout the globe.
Gini Thaverajah says: “I am thrilled to be part of TMF Group and its growing funds capabilities. It will be very stimulating to work with such a united and international team.”
Thaverajah will report to Melanie Peploe, COO for Fund Services, who says: “Gini’s skills and experience will be instrumental in maintaining the high level of service delivery our clients expect. Her experience in coordinating complex multi jurisdictions delivery and liaising with cross-border teams to secure the best client outcomes is impressive.”
