Broadstone appoints senior actuary

Broadstone, an independent employee benefits and pension consulting firm, has appointed Christopher Rice as a Senior Actuarial Director in its Bristol office.

Rice has over 20 years of experience working with UK pension schemes and joins from Capita where he was a Senior Consultant.

Rice is widely experienced in scheme de-risking and has navigated many schemes through liability management exercises right through to the buyout phase and will be spearheading Broadstone’s recently launched corporate consulting proposition. Chris has been a scheme actuary for over 10 years with experience of advising schemes with a range of asset sizes from below GBP10 million to over GBP300 million and will also bring related experience and depth in that sphere.

Chris is the latest of seven appointments to Broadstone’s advisory team in Bristol over recent months building on the established BBS business which became part of the Broadstone group in 2019.

Commenting on Chris’ appointment, Nigel Jones, Head of Consulting at Broadstone, says: “I am delighted to welcome Chris to Broadstone. His experience and enthusiastic attitude will fit in well with the team. We are seeing continued demand for quality pension consulting advice for trustees and corporates and our capabilities will be enhanced further with Chris’ addition.”

Rice says: “I am really pleased to be joining a team with such an outstanding reputation and I look forward to contributing to the growth of the business.”
