INTL FCStone’s van Duinen selected for BAFT’s Future Leaders Program 2020

INTL FCStone's Niels van Duinen, who works in the company's Global Payments Division, has been selected to participate in the Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) Future Leaders Program, Class of 2020 during their Global Annual Meeting in Europe.

Van Duinen is the second member of the Global Payments Division recognised as a future leader after Katherine Mueller, Vice President, was selected to be a member of the Class of 2019. Currently, in its fifth year, the programme identifies, recognises, and develops leaders in the transactions banking industry.

Niels van Duinen of INTL FCStone’s Global Payments Division, says: “It’s an honour to be selected by BAFT to join the Future Leaders Program. I look forward to joining such a prestigious organisation and collaborating with an exceptional group of peers to address top issues in the transaction banking space.”

As part of the Global Payments Division, van Duinen provides customised foreign exchange and treasury services to multinational corporations, financial institutions, international aid and development agencies in more than 175 countries. The Division maintains an extensive network of approximately 350 local correspondent banking relationships worldwide and leverages these trusted relationships to ensure efficient and secure cross-border payments in many countries where transparency is otherwise limited.

Van Duinen is one of 34 individuals from 16 countries selected to participate in BAFT’s Future Leaders program. The Class of 2020 will be divided into four project teams to address current industry issues including the impacts of SWIFT gpi, the profitability of sustainable finance, IBOR transitions and faster payments systems. Van Duinen will collaborate with fellow Future leaders to identify the impacts of SWIFT gpi and will develop strategies to mitigate the possible negative impacts to transaction banking. The class of 2020 will conclude in May at the BAFT 2020 North America Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
