In a month where equity products dominated the top viewed strategies globally and in many regions of the world, investors and consultants in Europe ex-UK and Japan had a bigger taste for fixed-income strategies than their peers in July, according to the latest eVestment Advantage Viewership Report covering the past month.
Eight of the top-viewed strategies from investors and consultants in Europe ex-UK were fixed-income strategies. Seven of the top strategies viewed by investors and consultants in Japan were fixed-income strategies.
And while hedge funds didn’t crack the top 20 most viewed strategies globally or on most of the geographies covered in the report, Asian investors and consultants using eVestment did have a taste for them as revealed by their top viewed lists. Among Asia ex-Japan investors and consultants using eVestment, FORT LP: FORT Global Futures and Balyasny Asset Management LP: Atlas Enhanced Master Fund, Ltd. made the top viewed strategies list. Among Japanese investors and consultants, PIMCO Absolute Return Strategy III Fund made the list of top viewed strategies.
Changes in viewership of asset management firms, their products and geographic focuses can be driven by changing investor demand; positive or negative company news; company marketing initiatives; global or local economic or political events; or other factors. Reviewing this data on its own tells a high-level story of what investors and consultants were interested in during the past month. And comparing this data to world and corporate events can offer a unique insight into institutional investors’ concern about these events.
The Advantage investment viewership data is generated through the eVestment Advantage solution and based on tracking daily eVestment user reviews of investment universes and products on eVestment. The report looks at Global, United States, United Kingdom, Europe ex-U.K., Japan, Asia ex-Japan, Australia and Canada profile viewership activity among the institutional investors and consultants who use eVestment. The report looks at the most viewed products and universes overall for the past month and the universes and products that saw the most month-over-month growth in views on the site.
