Amundi recruits two experts in emerging market debt
Amundi has added two experienced hires to the firm’s emerging market debt team in London.
Esther Law has been appointed Investment Manager responsible for local debt portfolios, reporting to Sergei Strigo, Head of Emerging Market Debt Management, Global Bond and Currency Management, while Abbas Ameli-Renani has been appointed Em
Law has 16 years of experience in Emerging Markets and is an Investment Manager in our Emerging Market Debt team focusing on local debt portfolios.
Prior to joining Amundi, she worked as an Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager at Pioneer Investments, focusing on local currency fixed income.
Previously, she was a Director in Emerging Markets Strategy for Société Générale and a Senior EM strategist for the Royal Bank of Scotland, identifying cross-country trading opportunities, developing extensive models for relative value trades and implementing strategy across these regions.
Law began her career in 1998 at HSBC as a Fixed Income Trader focusing on the Asian bond markets, before moving to the Global Fixed Income strategy team in 2002.
Esther holds an MSc in Mathematical Trading and Finance from CASS Business School in London and a BSc Law from the London School of Economics & Political Science.
Law is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Ameli-Renani is an Emerging Markets Strategist at Amundi, covering External and Local debt, as well as FX markets across the EM space. Ameli-Renani joined Amundi in 2014 from RBS Markets & International Banking where he was in charge of CEEMEA fixed income strategy. Prior to that he worked at RBS as a G10 FX Strategist.
Ameli-Renani is a graduate of the University of Cambridge, where he completed a BA Honours in Economics. He holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick.
