AllianzGI appoints institutional business development director

Allianz Global Investors has appointed Mark Guirey as director of UK institutional business development. 

Based in London, Guirey will help grow and manage AllianzGI’s institutional client footprint in the UK. 
 
AllianzGI offers UK institutional investors a range of strategies across all asset classes, including equities, fixed income and alternatives such as infrastructure debt, as well as research and risk management capabilities. 


 
Guirey joins AllianzGI with more than 15 years’ industry experience. Most recently he was at BlackRock, where he spent 13 years, latterly as a sales director within the UK institutional business. Before BlackRock, he worked at Rothschild Asset Management.
 
Guirey will report to Andy Wiggins, head of UK institutional at AllianzGI.
 
Wiggins says: “It’s great to have someone of Mark’s experience join the UK institutional team, helping ensure we can deliver the level of high-quality, informed client interaction that both we and our clients expect. Mark’s industry know-how will help us continue to build our reputation as an expert investment partner for UK institutional clients, combining global knowledge with local insight.”
