Mazars expands financial services practice with new partner appointment
Accountancy and advisory firm Mazars has appointed Tim Bateman as an actuarial partner (life insurance) within its financial services team.
Bateman (pictured) is an experienced life actuary with over 25 years in the life insurance industry.
His responsibilities in his new role will be to offer advice especially in the areas of with-profits management and financial and regulatory reporting to life insurance companies and to provide audit support to a variety of insurance companies in the
Mazars portfolio, in the UK and Europe.
During his career, Bateman has acted for clients in the with-profits sector, unit-linked pensions and the mutual life company market in his previous roles at consultants Towers Watson and insurer Equitable Life.
Mark Grice, head of Mazars insurance and financial services practice, says: “Mazars has a long and solid history within the life and actuarial advisory sector. Over the past year, we have embarked on a major investment programme within the practice division to expand our specialist teams and enhance client service. With a 20 strong actuarial division, including seven partners, we have one of the leading consultancy practices in London. I am delighted that Tim has joined the team which follows the recent appointment of Michael Tripp, former CEO of Ecclesiastical Insurance, to the actuarial division. The growth in client numbers is a testament to our team’s reputation.”
