MetWest Ventures launches Aristotle Credit Partners

MetWest Ventures has formed Aristotle Credit Partners to provide value-oriented credit investment strategies.

Aristotle Credit is a registered investment advisor focused on value-oriented credit strategies, including high yield bonds, bank loans, high grade corporate credits and custom strategies.

The investment process combines a macro overview with a bottom-up research-intensive investment approach.

Aristotle Credit Partners integrates a team with extensive experience in managing high yield fixed bonds and high-grade corporate strategies with West Gate Horizons Advisors, a registered investment advisor and MetWest affiliate specialising in the management of collateralised loan obligations and bank loans.

Aristotle Credit is the latest independent investment platform spearheaded by Richard Hollander and MetWest. Since 1992, Hollander has partnered with several experienced credit related investment teams including MetWest Asset Management (credit strategies), Post Advisory Group (high yield and distressed debt strategies), West Gate Horizons Advisors (collateralised loan obligations and bank loan strategies) and MetWest Securities (short term investment grade strategies); and equity focused entities including Aristotle Capital Management and MetWest Capital Management.

“Our partnership approach is straightforward. First, we focus on the longer-term value opportunity for clients; next, the quality of the team and its culture to achieve our common objectives; and finally, how MetWest can meaningfully contribute to the success of the organisation and its clients,” says Richard Hollander, chairman and chief executive officer of MetWest Ventures.

“My colleagues and I are thrilled to be working with Richard Hollander and the other MetWest affiliates. We will have a meaningful equity interest in Aristotle Credit Partners. We strongly believe that this alignment is crucial to the culture, stability and longevity of quality asset management firms,” says Doug Lopez, portfolio manager at Aristotle Credit Partners. “As a boutique credit manager, we are also nimble and believe we can source and create investment opportunities that larger fixed income firms forego.”
