Two US fund managers join Alceda UCITS Platform
Two new US fund managers, Miller/Howard Investments and Clark Capital Management Group, have joined the Alceda UCITS Platform (AUP).
The AUP enables fund and asset managers to structure their investment strategies in a UCITS format, as well as offering managers global access to an established network of distribution partners.
Lowell Miller, president and chief investment officer of Miller/Howard Investments, says: “Since 1991, Miller/Howard Investments has been focused on high-quality, income-producing equities and a highly disciplined investment strategy. This winning combination has allowed us to grow our firm to over USD5.3bn in assets under management with some of the most outstanding corporations, foundations, and endowments as clients. Today we're excited about being able to offer our strategy in a UCITS format for international investors. Given the uncertain economic world, we’re confident that international investors will appreciate our long track record and will view this strategy, in a UCITS vehicle, as a welcome investment alternative. We chose Alceda for their independent leading position, Luxembourg domicile, and access to global distribution.”
Harry Clark, chairman and chief executive of Clark Capital Management Group, says: “Fixed income has dominated investment inflows as global investors have sought alternatives to volatile equity markets over the last decade. This presents a challenge for many fixed income investors as interest rates remain near record lows. Investors around the world may benefit from a tactical fixed income approach that seeks to capitalise on opportunities to deliver higher yield while attempting to control the risk associated with today’s interest rate environment. We have found this strategy to be successful in the US. Alceda has established a very strong position as the largest independent UCITS platform in Europe and we are thrilled to partner with them to take this strategy global.”
Michael Sanders (pictured), chairman of Alceda, says: “We are seeing an increasing demand from the US for Luxembourg-domiciled structuring solutions as US managers look to extend their investor base into Europe, Asia and Latin America, by offering investment solutions in a UCITS format.
“We are delighted to welcome Miller/Howard and Clark Capital, two well-established and experienced US fund managers, to the Alceda UCITS Platform. These new additions are further testament to the growing recognition of our structuring expertise and distribution capabilities.”
