Withers launches pan-European investment funds practice with new partner hire
International law firm Withers has appointed investment management specialist Matthew Feargrieve to establish a pan-European investment funds practice.
Feargrieve (pictured) advises fund managers, investors and private clients on fund structuring and investment in public and private investment products. He advises clients throughout Europe, in particular Switzerland and the UK, and will be based in the firm’s Zurich office.
Withers’ international investment management and financial services practice works with leading clients in the funds industry and international investment community. The practice draws on the expertise of the firm’s wealth planning and tax structuring teams, amongst others, to provide a comprehensive legal service.
Judith Ingham, managing director of Withers’ Zurich office, says: “Matthew is a major new addition to our team. His extensive knowledge of funds and asset management, and his familiarity with the investment management industry in Switzerland and throughout Europe, position him as an extremely strong lawyer in this area. He brings an exciting new proposition to our services in Europe.”
Feargrieve says: “I am very excited about joining Withers to build an investment funds and asset management practice and to work with colleagues in Europe, US and Asia on expanding the firm’s international capabilities in this area. The firm’s stellar reputation for wealth planning, not least in the UK and Switzerland, is a great foundation on which to build major new opportunities.”
