AGF makes portfolio manager change
Tony Genua, senior vice-president and portfolio manager of AGF's flagship fund, AGF American Growth Class, is now the lead portfolio manager of AGF Aggressive US Growth Fund and AGF Aggressive Global Stock Fund.
For these mandates Genua (pictured) will use an investment strategy similar to AGF American Growth Class. His investment approach leads him to innovative higher-growth companies - regardless of where the company is domiciled or its market capitalisation.
He will be supported by the North American research team, a group of specialists who cover all 10 global industry sectors. The team provides important research and analysis and recommends timely, actionable investment ideas.
"We are excited to utilise our internal capabilities for these mandates," says Martin Hubbes, executive vice-president and chief investment officer of AGF Investments. "With over 30 years of experience, a similar investment style and proven track record of performance, Tony will provide investors with the investment experience they seek."
Cypress Capital Management, a subsidiary of AGF Investments, which currently manages the AGF Tactical Income Fund, will take on the management of AGF Canadian Small Cap Fund.
"This change allows us to leverage Cypress' specialised expertise in Canadian small-cap funds, while Caterina Prato can focus her efforts on the large-cap strategies - like AGF Canada Class," says Hubbes.
