Dynasty Financial Partners appoints Michael Moriarty as director of investment platforms
Dynasty Financial Partners has appointed Michael Moriarty as director of investment platforms.
Moriarty will be based in New York City and has been appointed to the Dynasty Financial Partners investment committee. He will report to Todd Thomson, chairman of Dynasty, in Thomson's role as interim chief investment officer.
As head of investment platforms, Moriarty's responsibilities include developing and expanding the firm's investment management solutions, including the Dynasty Separately Managed Account (SMA) and unified Managed Account (UMA) capabilities delivered in partnership with Callan Associates, one of the largest institutional investment consulting firms in the US, and Envestnet, a provider of technology-enabled wealth management solutions.

Moriarty joins Dynasty Financial Partners after 20 years of experience in financial services, primarily in building and managing businesses investing in and allocating to hedge funds. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer of PioneerPath and Surveyor Capital, Citadel Asset Management hedge funds.
Prior to Citadel, he was managing director and head of hedge fund linked derivatives in the Americas for J.P. Morgan, responsible for merging the Bear Stearns and JP Morgan businesses as well as managing the combined hedge fund portfolio. Previously, he was senior managing director and global head of the hedge fund linked derivatives business at Bear Stearns.
Moriarty will be leading a number of major initiatives for Dynasty to expand its investment platform. The first is Alternative Direct Solutions (ADS), which provides access to LP hedge funds and sleeves of hedge funds in mutual fund structures using the investment and operational expertise of Wilshire Funds Management, the global investment unit of Wilshire Associates Incorporated.
