Piper Jaffray elects Philip Soran to board of directors
Philip Soran joined the board of directors of investment bank and asset management firm Piper Jaffray and has been appointed to the audit committee, effective 5 February.
Soran (pictured) most recently served as president of Dell Compellent until his retirement in March 2012.
He co-founded Compellent Technologies in 2002 where he was president, chief executive officer and director until the company was acquired by Dell in February 2011.
Prior to that, he was the co-founder, president, chief executive officer and a director for data-storage products maker Xiotech which was later acquired by Seagate.

Soran is a current board member of SPS Commerce, Hutchinson Technology and Help/Systems.
