Ben Fox, director of F&C’s multi-alternative business

F&C develops multi-asset capability with key hire

F&C Investments has appointed Ben Fox as director of F&C’s multi-alternative business.

Fox (pictured) was previously a founder and fund manager at Goodhart Partners, a specialist investment manager.

Over the past 15 years, Fox has managed both retail strategies in the fund of funds team at Fidelity, and institutional strategies as head of fixed income research at Aon Consulting.
Fox is a AAA rated fund manager (Citywire), and has been the portfolio manager of an absolute return fixed income strategy at Goodhart since its inception in 2007.

As part of the same initiative, his fund, the Goodhart Partners Horizon Fund - Target Return Fund will also be managed by F&C.

Alex Jones, a portfolio analyst at Goodhart will also be joining the multi alternative team.
Fox will initially co-head F&C’s multi-alternative team with Ken Kinsey-Quick. He will be leaving F&C at the end March, and at this time, Fox will assume responsibility of the team.
Mandy Mannix, responsible for client service and distribution at F&C Investments, says: “Developing our multi-asset business is a core focus for F&C in 2013, and Ben’s appointment is a significant step in the building of our capabilities in the multi alternatives component of this. Ben is not only a highly regarded manager, with an outstanding record, but the Target Return Fund is a strong complement to our existing range, and provides a compelling investment opportunity for investors.”
