Pyramis appoints Pam Holding as head of portfolio management

Pyramis Global Advisors, a Fidelity Investments company, has appointed Pam R Holding as head of portfolio management.

Holding will lead equity portfolio management teams at Pyramis and oversee strategy and implementation of institutional clients’ investments.

“Pam offers experience across asset classes and her joining our senior investment management team will create additional capacity for all senior investment staff,” says Mike Jones, president and chief executive of Pyramis. “This appointment will help us continue on our path to best serve our clients in the most effective way.”

Holding’s position was created to bring additional senior resources to institutional asset management as PGA’s business grows and becomes more global. Pyramis currently manages more than USD112bn in equity assets including global and international equity, global sector, US equity, asset allocation and alternatives including market neutral and long/short equity. She will report to Young Chin, chief investment officer.

Holding was most recently managing director, global value equities at Putnam Investments in Boston from 2001 to 2009. Prior to that, she was associate director, head of European research from 1999 to 2001 in Putnam’s London office.

She also held several fixed income research positions after joining Putnam in 1995. From 1992 to 1995, she was a senior high-yield bond analyst at Kemper Financial Services.
