Behringer Harvard has appointed Casey Herren as institutional sales director – western region.

Herren is responsible for developing institutional channel distribution strategies for Behringer Harvard's existing and expanding product portfolio, including sales of alternative and direct investments in the western states.

Michael Davis, who joined Behringer Harvard in June 2012, continues to manage institutional channel distribution in the eastern states.

"We're pleased to welcome Casey to Behringer Harvard," says Frank Muller, executive vice president and head of distribution for Behringer Harvard. "I'm confident that Casey's capital-raising experience in the middle market will add depth to our institutional distribution team as we continue to grow and expand our alternative investments platform among pension plans, endowments, foundations, high-net-worth investors and institutional consultants."

Herren has more than 10 years of experience in managing and servicing investment relationships, new business development, and strategic marketing. Most recently, he was director of business development at Dallas-based Highland Capital Management, a credit hedge fund. From 2009 to 2011, he was institutional marketing director for Vaughan Nelson Investment Management in Houston. At Atlantic Investment Management in New York, he held a similar position from 2007 to 2008.

He began his career as vice president of institutional marketing with Lazard Asset Management in New York from 2001 to 2007.
