State Street has appointed Simone Vroegop to head of consultant relations for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with responsibility for expanding and strengthening relationships with consultants across a variety of markets.

Vroegop will be based in London and will report to Tim Caverly, executive vice president and head of State Street’s global services sales and business development activities for EMEA, and Wendy LaBonte, senior vice president and global head of consultant relations.

Vroegop was previously vice president and head of business development for State Street’s global services business in the Netherlands, Belgium and the Nordic region.

As head of consultant relations for EMEA, Vroegop will support State Street’s focus on delivering integrated solutions to asset owners, asset managers and insurance companies.

LaBonte says: “We are very pleased to welcome Simone to this position in EMEA. Her appointment is a response to the increasingly important role consultants have in the decision-making process for our clients. Her experience will help us to further strengthen our credentials in this area and she will play a key role in developing our business.”

Roel van de Wiel will continue to act as business development executive in the Amsterdam office and report into Evert van den Brink. As a senior vice president at State Street, Brink manages similar teams in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Together they will move forward the company’s sales and business development for these markets.
