George Matthews, an asset management executive with 17 years of experience, has been named head of consultant relations and business development at Analytic Investors, a provider of quantitative investment solutions to institutions and individuals.
Matthews (pictured), who worked for Analytic Investors from August 2009 to August 2012, is responsible for establishing and implementing the firm's strategic direction with respect to investment consultants, plan sponsors and general business development initiatives.
Matthews re-joins Analytic investors less than a month after the 42-year-old firm announced a successful management buyout from Old Mutual Asset Management.
"George Matthews is a highly respected investment executive who will play a key role as Analytic begins the next chapter of its history as a standalone, asset management boutique,” says Harin de Silva, president of Analytic Investors. “George understands the needs of our investors, and he brings a level of knowledge and experience that will serve Analytic very well as an independent firm.”
Prior to rejoining the firm, Matthews worked for Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors. Before that, he worked for Wells Capital Management, Wilshire Associates and Banc of America Capital Management.
“I’m thrilled to be re-joining Analytic Investors and help build on the firm’s exemplary record of investment performance, client service and innovative thinking,” Matthews says. “Now that Analytic is an independent, employee-owned firm, we have an opportunity to create more value for investors and identify new relationships to distribute our world-class solutions.”
