Legal & General Investment Management has recruited several people for its pension solutions business.

Shajahan Alam, senior structurer, has joined from Towers Watson and will design and implement derivative-led, bespoke solutions for clients.

Lucas Bouwhuis, liability driven investment portfolio manager, has joined from Western Asset Management and will be responsible for managing LDI mandates for a number of major clients.

Iain Simpson, LDI account manager, has joined from BlackRock and will be responsible for ensuring that LDI clients receive a high level of service on a day to day basis.

Michael Walsh, LDI product specialist, has also joined from BlackRock and will provide specialist support to both the marketing and clients liaison teams.

Kerrigan Procter, head of solutions, says: “LGIM has experienced impressive growth in its LDI/pension solutions business over the last few years, with approximately GBP75bn notional in derivative overlays now in place for our pension scheme client-base. As this growth continues, it is important that we continue to invest in the business, to ensure that the high standards we have set are maintained both for our existing clients and also for any new ones that we attract.”
