The Marshall Funds appoints director of intermediary distribution

The Marshall Funds has appointed C. Michael Robinson as senior vice president and director of intermediary distribution.

Robinson will manage distribution of the funds through financial intermediaries such as registered investment advisers, broker dealers and the distribution platforms that interact with these firms.

"Mike's professional credentials will support our plans to expand distribution of the Marshall Funds," says Tommy Huie, president and chief investment officer of M&I Investment Management, adviser to the Marshall Funds. "With seven of 11 funds (investor class) earning either a four- or five-star overall Morningstar Rating as of 30 June 2010, the fund family's performance provides significant opportunity for growth in assets under management."

Robinson joins the Marshall Funds with more than 25 years of institutional investment sales experience. Most recently, Robinson served as vice president and head of platform sales for RiverSource Investments, where he was also responsible for US distribution of the firm's London affiliate, Threadneedle.

Prior to joining RiverSource, Robinson served for more than 18 years in a variety of institutional sales leadership positions with American Century Investments.

M&I Investment Management has been adviser to the Marshall Funds mutual fund family since the first fund was established in 1992.
