MFS Investment Management names Robert Manning chairman

MFS Investment Management has appointed Rober J. Manning as the chairman of the company, effective 1 July 2010. 

Manning (pictured) succeeds Robert Pozen, who will become the chairman emeritus and will retire from the company on 31 December 2011.
 
Manning joined the company as an analyst in the fixed income department in 1984. He served as a portfolio manager, director of fixed income research and chief fixed income officer. 

He was named as the chief executive and chief investment officer in 2004.
 
MFS is a money management firm with investment offices in Boston, London, Mexico City, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
