Broadpoint Capital, a broker-dealer subsidiary of Broadpoint Gleacher Securities Group, has appointed Michael Voelker as head of the investment grade group in its debt capital markets division.

The group will include the division’s investment grade, hybrid and preferred securities efforts.

Voelker, who joined Broadpoint.Gleacher in July 2009, brings over 20 years of experience in sales, trading and management. Since joining the firm, Voelker has led the preferred/hybrids group in the debt capital markets division.

Prior to joining Broadpoint.Gleacher, Voelker was co-head of the investment grade credit division of Bank of America. Prior to Bank of America, he was managing director and head of credit at HSBC.
